The Tuesday Lunchtime concert in All Saints’ this week will be performed by The Appleton Duo.
Breathe Eucharist will be this Wednesday 20 July in the Quiet Garden in All Saints from 8pm.
Wycombe Youth for Christ are holding their AGM on Tues 19 July, 8.00-9.30pm at St. Birinus & St. John's Church, for further info contact Erica on 01494 522777.
All SAINTS CHURCH PICNIC - TODAY, from 12 noon in the Museum grounds, Priory Ave. A wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to relax and have fun together. Fun and games will be organised to keep the little ones entertained. Please bring your own picnic food and maybe something to share, as well as something to sit on. If the weather is bad we will have a shared lunch in church.
Sunday 24 July, 11.00 am: The bellringers invite you to visit the tower to see the clock, bells and view from the top. Probably the last opportunity to see the structural damage to tower and the old bells before the restoration work commences. Please meet at the west end of church after the 9.45 service. Children under 14 must be accompanied, and please wear soft, flat shoes.
A huge thank you to all who supported the Hymns with Pimms event last Saturday. Particular thanks to our organist Tony Philpot, to those who donated cakes and produce and of course the very generous hymn bidders! We are delighted to say that after additional sales on Sunday, the total amount raised was £796.20 which with gift aid on the donations should rise to at least £870. Thistle Martin & Lis Burns
Retiring Collection - There will be a retiring collection after all the Sunday Services today in aid of the DEC African Appeal.
We need to dispose of some surplus church chairs which are currently in the container by the end of July. Some of them have woodworm and, therefore, are only suitable for outdoor use. If you could make use of some, please contact Hazel the Verger.
Race for Life Hazel the verger and a group of ladies of varying ages are taking part in the Race for Life on the Rye at 3pm on 24 July to raise money for Cancer Research. If anybody feels able to sponsor Hazel she will be extremely grateful.
Vale Volunteers Gardening Service are looking for volunteers for 2 hours a month to help elderly and disabled people maintain their gardens. If you would like to help, contact Leona on 01296 744736 or email leona@communityimpactbucks.org.uk
Coach Trip to Wells Cathedral, 6 August 2011
The trip will include a tour of the cathedral and we can enjoy a concert rehearsal there, which is in preparation for a full Baroque Concert on a later date. Tickets £16 for adults, £6 for children. Quiz Tea in aid of Ringappeal Saturday afternoon 3 September. Please put this note in your diaries early as we hope for a fun afternoon. The Quiz will take the form more of a Hunt around Church, getting to know corners and items you may never have seen or read before and there will be a prize for the winner. The Quiz will start at 3.00pm. and will be followed by Afternoon Tea. £5 for Adults and £3 for children. Please bring your friends and Tickets will be on sale in a few weeks' time. There are a series of ‘Earthquake’ fund raising concerts by Jeremy Woodside from Christ Church Cathedral New Zealand. See the poster in the church porch for further details.
Friends of Buckinghamshire’s Historic Churches are holding an illustrated autumn talk on ‘Literary Bucks’, and this will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 16 September in St Mary’s church in Haddenham. The talk will focus on buildings in Buckinghamshire associated with famous writers. Tickets are available from Nick Morgan 0n 01844 291217 for £7 which includes a glass of wine.
