The Tuesday Lunchtime concert in All Saints’ this week will be performed by The Brooke Ensemble.
A date for your diary - RINGAPPEAL: The bellringers have booked the town centre street collection, in aid of the tower and bells restoration, for Saturday 2 July and need volunteers. If anyone could help by "shaking" a tin for an hour or two that day between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m., please contact Tricia Newton (01844 352926).
Breathe – Weds 29 June at 8pm in All Saints. An informal time of worship, prayer and bible study. All Welcome.
Child Protection Training – All Saints is running a session on Child Protection Training on Thurs 30 June in the Oakley Hall at 7.30pm. Contact Helen in the Parish Office if you have not already signed up but feel this is a session you should attend.
Hymns with Pimms – Saturday 9 July at 3pm in the church. We’ll put together the Pimms and afternoon tea but it’s up to YOU to choose the hymns! Look out for the bidding slips – decide just how much your hymn is worth, fill in a slip and put it in the box provided or hand it to either one of us. The highest 8 bids received by Monday 4July are guaranteed to have their hymns played on the day. You can keep track of the “bidding war” by checking the chart at the back of church. The afternoon tea will cost £5 and tickets are now available for purchase. Thistle Martin & Lis Burns
The Quiz Tea in aid of Ringappeal which was to be held on Sunday 17 July has had to be postponed. It is hoped that it will be in early September, please watch this space!
We need to dispose of some surplus church chairs which are currently in the container by the end of July. Some of them have woodworm and, therefore, are only suitable for outdoor use. If you could make use of some, please contact Hazel the Verger.
A theatre trip to see Warhorse Before booking seats for sometime in September we would like to know how many of you would like to go. We can then work out costs and a possible date. The larger the group the better the discount on coach and tickets. As with other trips we will be setting aside a few seats for our Homeless Community to have the use of. Please email the Church Office or speak to either Myra Rodrigues or myself in church. Joe Arthur
Wycombe Youth for Christ are holding two events: A Prayer Event on Monday 27 June, 8.00-10.00pm at Christchurch Flackwell Heath and their AGM on Tuesday 19 July, 8.00-9.30pm at St. Birinus & St. John's Church, for further information contact Erica on 01494 522777.
Wanted! Your empty glass jars - ideally still with lids but not essential. Please hand them to either Lis Burns or Thistle Martin by Monday 4th July. Thank you.
The 16th Scout Group are looking for an auditor to sign off a ‘non complicated’ set of accounts for year 2011-2012, and hopefully beyond that. Please contact Peter Griffiths on 01494 436752 or Sarah Hall on 01494 520377 if you can help.
Plant Stall Saturday 9 July at 3pm – I do hope the gardeners among you will be able to provide some lovely plants in aid of All Saints’ as usual. Please label items and remember nothing too heavy, too tall, or too tiny as it will not sell. Some more helpers very welcome – especially on the evening of Friday 8th. Some knowledge of plants an advantage! Thanks Rosemary Vere.
Poetry, Faith and Flowers An open day at St Giles Church, Stoke Poges on Saturday 9 July, 10.30am to 6.00pm.
Summer Barbeque This will be in the churchyard on Saturday 16 July from 11-3pm. It's another way for churches in the town to share the love of God in word and action. We need folk to help set up, serve the food, chat to people and clear up afterwards. If you feel you can halp with any of these roles please contact Debbie as soon as possible: 07757 171612. debbie.orriss@churcharmy.me.uk
