TOWER RESTORATION/RINGAPPEAL: Work has at last started in the tower. The clock itself has been removed, but the engineers must return to remove the hands and drive mechanisms to the clock faces. The building contractors have been carrying out preparatory work, protecting peal boards, opening hatches, etc. ready for the installation of lifting beams next week. The west end floor and north aisle protection will be laid in the week beginning 19 March, then the exciting part starts. On 26 March we will start lowering the bells from the tower, and, if everything goes to plan, they will be taken to Whitechapel Bellfoundry on 29 March. The bell frame will then be dismantled and stored in the north aisle until it can be sold. There will be a lot of other wood - floor boards, etc, which will be of no use for restoration or craft work and might be of interest to people with wood burning stoves. Should anyone be interested in having some of the scrap wood, please contact Patricia Newton (01844 352926). Donations to Ringappeal always appreciated.
Easter Lilies – If you would like a lily in church in memory of a loved one, please would you put the money and the name of the person to be remembered into an envelope and hand it to the church office, the verger, Pat Lea, Liz Cunningham or myself by Sunday 25 March. The cost again this year will be £3 per lily. Elizabeth Cubbage

PALM SUNDAY - We will be including a dramatic version of the Passion within the 9.45am service on Palm Sunday. There will be no (or very few) lines to learn and we will hold two rehearsals beforehand on Wednesday 21 March @ 7.30pm and Saturday 31 March @ 3pm in church.
