Ref the proposed Scrabble Competition Fundraising
We find that a competing venue has been arranged by the national scrabble association for April so I regret that our scrabble competition is to be delayed until the Autumn so that we do not compete with them for players. However please register your wish to be contacted nearer the time. Local charities still urgently need your support so I am going to give you a way to do it without dipping still further into your own pockets. If you go to www.traders4charity on the internet you will find, and can contact, a selection of local traders who are donating a portion of their earnings to charity. So when you use their services you know two things. One they have been recommended for the care and consideration they give and 2 they can give a donation to charity from their earnings. Please phone me, Joe Arthur, on 01494 534582, if you know of a trader who can prove his worth. By getting them through you we can avoid the unskilled. Terms and conditions can be seen at our website, under which the project operates. The main point is that although we are doing our best to take and follow up references their work is not guaranteed by the site or myself.
Sub-Account Holders – URGENT REMINDER to all sub-account holders (Choir, Friends, Flowers, Bell Ringers, Magazine, etc) that their statement of annual account (plus supporting documentation) should be made up to 31 Dec 2009 and be available for the PCC Treasurer NOW. This will ensure that the PCC accounts are ready for inspection by mid-February. BJT

Car Parking - As you will have seen, the area of the churchyard where cars have been parked on the grass is in a very poor state. This is receiving attention but will everyone please refrain from parking on the grass.
Thank you from the bellringers: Despite the cold weather, the Chiltern Concert Band concert went ahead on Saturday 16th January, and was very successful. The band made no charge, the bellringers provided all refreshments, and together with a couple of generous donations we raised over £850 for the "Ringappeal" account. Many thanks to everyone who supported us.
GIFT DAY - Responses to the Parish Gift Day, initiated on 1 November 2009, are still being received! A total of 217 invitations to participate were sent out to members and friends of the parish from which we have received 69 replies - a response rate of nearly 32%. A total of £12844.00 was donated in one-off gifts together with 6 people joining the planned giving scheme and 15 individuals/couples increasing their weekly/monthly giving - generating an annual increase in income of approximately £5250. This is a magnificent response and the All Saints' Pastoral Team and PCC are so grateful to everyone who donated so generously. Apart from those who asked that their gift should go to a specific purpose, the money will go in to general funds to support the mission of the parish that includes paying back monies loaned from other church funds. God Bless you all.
HAITIAN APPEAL - Last Sunday a retiring collection was taken at the 9.45 Parish Eucharist service in aid of the Haitian Earthquake Appeal. The generosity shown by a relatively small congregation was unbelievable and £351.10 was donated. This amount has now been sent on to the Appeal Fund. Many thanks to all who gave so generously.
2009BS (before snow) - remember that year? If so, please let me have a report of what your organisation did. No more than one sheet of A4 preferably by e-mail to noelandjanet@talktalk.net or leave in the letter slot at the back of church addressed to Janet Billington by the end of February please. Many thanks.

Scrabble Challenge With the severe weather we are experiencing throughout Bucks there is an increased need for funds to provide shelter and support. In particular both Wycombe Night Shelter and Bucks Rape Crisis are working very hard in meeting this need. In April we are planning a simultaneous scrabble challenge where we can all compete. Prizes are to be sought for the highest scores and a charge of £10 each entry to be divided equally between the two charities.
Please let us know if you are interested in competing or helping to organise the event. Please email me care of the All Saint church office or phone me on 01494 534582. Thank you. Joe Arthur

Thank you. Joe Arthur

Once again, we have booked the fairground organ and are organising a street collection, for the Saturday before Christmas.
Firstly, we need a Sponsor for the organ hire of £175; please contact John Lord (01494-483362) to help.
Next, we are looking to the rest of the congregation for help as Collectors on the day: Can you put aside an hour or two? Please sign the list, which will be at the back of Church.
Don’t worry if you can’t collect on the day, as (due to popular demand) we are re-introducing the “Organ Avoidance” scheme. You will be able to give one hour’s pay instead - Use the yellow Gift Aid envelopes. All monies raised will go to All Saints’ funds.
Christmas gift-wrapping - If anyone would like to help with this demonstration of God's love to the shoppers in Eden on the evening of 17 December, please let Debbie Orriss know: 07757 171612 or debbie.orriss@churcharmy.me.uk
